Security Systems Design Consultant, Security Consulting Services
Maria Dewing joined T&M in January 2019 and serves as a Security Systems Design Consultant in the Security Consulting Services division. She is an accomplished security professional with years of assessment, systems design, and project management experience. Her security systems knowledge includes integrated access control, video surveillance, intercom, and perimeter control systems. Ms. Dewing provides risk assessments, existing systems evaluations, and systems consulting services to her clients across diverse markets including education, nonprofit, financial, commercial real estate, and high net worth residential.
Prior to joining T&M, Ms. Dewing served as a project manager for Guidepost Solutions and a security engineer for Robert Derector Telecommunications, where she managed all aspects of electronic and physical security projects from performing risk assessments, master planning, and the design stage through construction administration and closeout. In those capacities, Ms. Dewing’s projects included an extensive risk assessment of the City School District of New Rochelle, security design services for the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services, which included the New York City Police Department headquarters, and many others.
During her tenure as a security consultant, Ms. Dewing has also worked with Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. As a senior security specialist with the John Jay College Counterterrorism Assessment Program, she gained vast expertise in performing physical threat and risk assessments for a wide variety of institutions. She has performed numerous assessments for houses of worship, community centers, and schools, successfully guiding their applications for the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) grant program.
Ms. Dewing holds a Master of Science degree in Protection Management from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from New York University. She is a longtime member of the NYC Chapter of ASIS International.
